So you want to find wholesale suppliers for your Amazon FBA business? This blog post will share with you how to find them and allow you to start building relationships so you can potentially find profitable products to sell in your business. 

Setting Wholesale Business Foundations  

To give you the best chance to set up your business for success, here are the 3 most important elements to setting up your business foundations and then we will cover them one at a time:

1. Vision – Your story 
2. Website, Presence, Email address 
3. Location, Address  

Sharing Your Vision & Story With Suppliers

You want to represent yourself and your story as a retailer; you want to build some great working relationships with wholesalers.  

You need to have visions for yourself and what you want to represent/what kind of retailer you want to represent, whether it be general retail, specialising in toys, health and beauty or groceries. Whatever it may be, you need to have a vision for your business, because when you start talking to account managers and sales teams, they are going to ask you questions. They are going to ask what you are doing and more questions about your business. Your vision and your aspect are an important aspect of the foundations.

Setting Up Your Website, Online Presence & Email Address  

Having a website or some presence online is vital. If you currently do not have any presence online and the account managers and sales teams start asking a little more about you and your story and you simply just say, “I’m an Amazon FBA seller,” this is potentially going to cause you problems.

Where Is Your Business Location & Address?

The location you are shipping from, whereabouts your location is.  

If you have a warehouse or even a store, it is going to really help you. If you are currently at home, it is going to be quite challenging, and you are going to be held back if you are only shipping from home.   

Also, when you are having big deliveries, then having the deliveries sent to your home address may be a problem, as they cannot get into your location.

Creating Your Wholesale Supplier Shortlist  

A wholesale shortlist is a list of around 10, 20 or even 30 wholesalers, who you do research on and try to find. This is a strongly recommended way. Try and batch lots of different leads, shortlist of wholesalers, then later, you can give them a call or send them an email. On the chart, you have wholesaler name and wholesaler URL, but it is up to you how complex you would like it.  

You could add: 

• Contact details 
• Phone number 
• Email address 
• Social media page 
• URLS 

Finding Wholesale Suppliers Using Google

A fantastic way to come up with potential leads, is by going on Google and searching the following key words: 

• Wholesaler UK 
• Wholesalers Near Me 
• Wholesalers Toys 
• Wholesalers Fashion 
• Wholesalers Jewellery 
• Wholesalers Homeware 

Once you search any of these in, it will come up with a whole page full of different wholesalers. With this, you can choose one which looks appealing to you. Once you have found one that you are interested in, you can copy the URL and place it into your chart.  

Finding Wholesale Suppliers By Attending Tradeshows

Now let us focus on trade shows. A notable example of this is SPRINGFAIR. SPRINGFAIR is a local trade show; however, you will be able to find countless websites for many different trade shows. Some trade show websites will show an exhibitor list, which will show a bunch of suppliers, with a check tab on the side where you can specify what you are ideally searching for. When you find one which looks appealing to you, you can then click it and there will be lots of information about them; For example, their number, social media pages, email address and address. With this information, you are now easily able to contact them.

Finding Wholesale Suppliers Using LinkedIn

A fantastic way of getting in contact with suppliers once you find one you are interested in, is by going on LinkedIn. On here, you can search for their page. LinkedIn is a terrific way to build connections with somebody, and if you find somebody who is a part of a wholesale company, you may want to connect with them via LinkedIn. By doing this, you are expanding your network and reach of person.
