13 Reasons Why People Fail to Build a Successful Online Business ❌
We all know that the rise and takeover of the internet has absolutely transformed our world. It’s the reason why you’re here reading this blogpost right now; it’s also the reason why myself and many others have been able to set up online businesses allowing us the time and freedom of working to live a life that we love, rather than spending our hours where we are living just to work.
I, for one, am so incredibly thankful for all the tools, resources and opportunities that the world wide web has opened up to the masses. And having been immersed in the world of online selling since 2015, I can’t stress just how incredible the online world has been in terms of me not just having a business, but being able to grow, outsource and automate my businesses, too.
One of the most transformative additions to my online businesses is without a doubt, the hiring of senior virtual assistants: incredible, highly-skilled people who, while working remotely in other countries, help me to make more money, save me so much time on a daily basis and assist me in growing and taking my businesses to the next level.

How can senior virtual assistants help you?
I’m sure you’ve gathered so far that senior virtual assistants can make a significant difference to how much time you save and how much money you make, and therefore, ultimately how successful your business is overall. But I’m sure you’re keen to know more, right?
Well, to begin with, if you’re in the business of online selling, I’m sure you must have come to a bottleneck at some point or another. Whether you’re facing time restraints, limited money, space, resources or whatever else it is… this is a vital time for your business because it highlights that something has to change, and provides a massive opportunity for growth.
You have to figure out a way to strategically overcome whatever bottleneck you’re facing, and having been in this game since 2015, I can tell you from my own experience that time and time again, hiring a virtual assistant has been the answer.
By simply outsourcing many of the tasks that take up most of your time and energy, you’ll find that suddenly, your business life has become much more smooth, more easy to manage and you’ll have more money, more time and less stress! Win- win
Going from VA to senior VA
In January 2016, just after quitting my job to go into online arbitrage full time, with the intention of growing my business, I immediately took a lot of action. I began recruiting more manual virtual assistants to help with sourcing products; hiring VAs in different product categories.
This was a fantastic move and did help me out a lot. However, I found that there were a lot of things I was still having to do personally, such as reviewing, basket creation, purchasing and more. It was a lot to handle so I knew I had to make another strategic move if I was going to be able to do this and create the freedom that I desired. And this was the point when I went on to hire my senior virtual assistant – now known as my growth/purchasing manager – and nothing has been the same since!
I recruited my senior virtual assistant, Harry, from Upwork and over a period of around 6-8 months of working closely together, I was able to hand over a lot of tasks that I was spending a lot of time on, over to him. He took over purchasing, managing the replenishing of stock, shipment discrepancies, doing inventory health checks, and so much more – and I could not be happier!
Preparing your business for the recruitment of virtual assistants
Senior virtual assistants can do everything from account management and managing the purchasing of products, through to managing your team of VAs, giving them feedback and helping them to grow, too.
But before you get to the stage of actually bringing a senior VA on board, you need to ensure that you’re prepared.
From my experience, preparation for recruiting a senior virtual assistant includes:
Figure out where they will fit into the business
Write up their roles and responsibilities
Create the job advertisement and put it online
Work out how you will go through the recruitment process – such as interviews, shortlist and trial period
Get them on board, set them up, make sure they are happy and establish some KPIs
It is only through having virtual assistants and of course, my senior virtual assistants, that has allowed me to grow and scale my business to where it is today.
