Asana Demo 💻 How To Set Up Asana To Manage Tasks In Your Business? | Success In Business 💰 | Ep 07
Asana is a great project management tool that you can use to assign different tasks to different team members in your business. So what I want to do this episode is go through a bit of an Asana tutorial, which will help you manage your business and outsource to your employees as per their job descriptions!
Creating job descriptions are really important and Asana allows you to assign those tasks to make sure those job descriptions are being completed to the level you want!
Asana is completely free, you can go to the site and get signed up and then you can start bringing your team members into your business and assign tasks!
This was one of my goals for 2017, and six months later, it’s still going strong, I’m still modifying it and learning, but it’s so good.
I’ll be going through the basics of Asana so you can go through this when you’ve signed up!
I’ve created a new project for the Life Success Engineer, because I have multiple team members coming in and I wanted to start assigning them tasks.
First things first, to give you an overview, Asana allows you to list, you can have conversations, you can see the calendar, progress, and files.
It is a project management tool, and if you were to go into the main menu, you will be able to have all your team members in and have different projects on the go.
As I have multiple VAs in my teams, I like to have each person as a heading. All you have to do is put in a colon after the title and it will bold it and leave that as a heading. Then you can assign different tasks under that particular VA.
It’s completely up to you how you do this, but I like to see my projects as people. So I have the multiple VAs as headings and then I can see the lists of tasks my particular VA has to complete.
Then you press Enter and assign tasks, and it’s really straightforward! You can have as many tasks for each person as you want, assign the tasks to any person in your team, add a date for when you want it done, and you can either have it as a one-off tasks or set it on repeat!
The tasks could be daily or weekly, you can set it for any day you want, add a due time, it’s really up to you how deep you want to get in with this, but it’s really fantastic because it gives yo all the capabilities you want in your business.
Then you can add a description, add as much information there as you want, and you can also add tags to filter different tasks. You can add in sub-tasks as well to any major task as well. You can attach files and other options like delete, copy tasks, copy task URL or print screen.
It really does allow you to do a lot of things, so as you can imagine, if you start to build this up, you can make sure everyone in your team is doing the right tasks.
You’ll be able to track the progress of your projects, it’s so straightforward and you can create and assign tasks so quickly, and then log on and see how your jobs are going. Especially if you’ve got a bigger team, you’ll be able to immediately see if somebody is falling behind and it’s really easy to track. It will help massively for your business!
