We’ve all got the same amount of time, 24 hours in a day. If you can get more done in that same period of time, that will make all the difference in your life!
It stands for: No Extra Time.
This basically asks the question, how can you be doing tasks simultaneously?
I try to do multiple things at the same time so I’m doing more in the same amount of time. Now I’m free out of my job, I like to take my son to school. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and was not able to, so one of my goals in terms of relationship and family is taking him to school. But I also realised that I want to stay fit and healthy.
So my son goes to school on his scooter and I run alongside by him, and it helps me achieve those goals at the same time! I try to do multiple runs throughout the week and I’m always listening to personal development programs or a form of meditation while I’m running and visualising my future and goals.
We’ve all got family lives and things to do, but whatever you’re doing, try and put on a personal development program or listen to something while you’re doing that task.
How can you leverage yourself in your days?
For example, how to get leverage in your business for example would be creating working procedures. If you have virtual assistants or physical employees, if you could create working procedures on how to do specific tasks, they are going to give you leverage over your business because you can then hand them out and save time.
Leverage is so powerful because you have to think, why do I have to speak to every assistant in my business when I can just create one procedure that can speak to everybody? This is a principle you want to live by.
Like my YouTube videos create leverage for me, you could create videos for your working procedures and use apps like Camtasia 2 and Screenomatic to record yourself and send it to your virtual assistants for specific tasks!
This principle is very close to leverage, but the reason why I wanted to include it is because it makes you think about why you are doing specific tasks in your business.
In my mind, I’m always thinking I need to do tasks for the first time to understand it, to work out what’s wrong and right, but the second time and going onwards, I know I need to delegate the tasks to a member of my team.
If you start to live by this principle and think about all the tasks you’re doing, you can free up your time and focus on other things. This is what I’ve done in my business. I’ve delegated sourcing, reviewing, purchasing, prepping, shipping, everything. I now have a business and transferred from self-employed to a business owner. This is ultimately where you want to get to, and it includes delegating tasks.
Bonus principle: Work Longer
I wasn’t going to include this, but the reality is, we only have a certain amount of time.
If you are only spending two hours a day on your business, the reality is, you’re not going to get as much done as somebody who is grinding in the work. You have to sacrifice something to get more back.
So if you are for example, calling it at day at 7 o clock, sometimes that’s right, but sometimes you have to sacrifice your evenings and sleep. I work long because I realise that if I put the time in now creating value, creating content and systems in my business, I’m going to get more done!
If you can use the earlier principles to work smarter and couple it with working longer, your business will start to run on autopilot, start being positive cash flow and you can then invest that into more delegation, more leverage and more N.E.T time!
This has been some tips on how to get more done! Let me know what you think! 🙂
