1. Four shelf brackets (£2.50-3.50/piece)
2. Nut driver - to actually drive in the screws
3. Drill bit
4. Tape measure
5. Level
6. Stud finder
7. Under-cabinet light

Once you have all the equipment, you basically locate the studs and put up the brackets. Make sure they're level then put the shelf on top, drive some nuts in there. All in all, it's about an hour worth of work or something. But, something like this make life pretty easy.
