Welcome to my Success in Entrepreneurship series! Today I'm going to be talking about the comfort zone and why you shouldn't be in it!
Watch the video below:
I read a really powerful quote this week and it went something like this:
The minute you step inside your comfort zone, the time you are living in your comfort zone, is the beginning of the end.
It's the beginning of the end of your health and fitness, your business, your personal growth. The truth is, people think that as soon as they achieve their goals, they can take their foot off the gas. They start to relax, and that is the beginning of the end. At that moment, you start to die, because as Jim Rohn used to say, "If you're not growing, you're dying".
You need to keep pushing out of your comfort zone and keep questioning yourself. If you're not pushing those boundaries, you really need to start thinking about the things that are going to make you uncomfortable, because all your goals are about pushing outside your comfort zone. This is key, especially in entrepreneurship and business.
There are going to be times when you will need to outsource your business. If you want to grow, you need to grow your team, you need to start delegating away from you. This is going to be uncomfortable, but it's important to remember not to be the bottleneck of the business by resisting it.
Ask yourself what makes you feel uncomfortable. What tasks are you avoiding? Why are you avoiding those tasks?
You're most likely avoiding specific tasks because they're making you feel uncomfortable, whether it's to do with accounting, taxes, or growing your business. All the growth that you want is at the other side of you taking those actions.
In terms of personal growth, pushing your comfort zone is huge. Your brain is always trying to keep you safe and comfortable, but you will decline. You need to keep expanding and pushing yourself to become the best person you can be.
I hope you've been enjoying this series, and as always, comment and let me know what you think!
