Success In Business | Personal Brand | Ep4 | How To Start A Podcast & Get Over 600 Plays In 7 Days?
Hello, this is Kev from LifeSuccessEngineer.com! Today, I’m going to be talking about how to start your own podcast and get it to 500 plays in a week!

I started my podcast at the beginning of 2017 and it’s built up over now, and I’m now at a point where I’ve broadcasted over 100 episodes and I’m starting to get some really good statistics. I’ve got over 50 listeners, I’ve had over 600 plays over the last seven days and I’ve had over 2000 plays over the last 30 days!
I want to show you how I’ve done this with no extra work! All I’ve done is reproduced the videos I create and the context I already publish. I just reproduced it as a podcast to reach more people!
If you are creating content and are trying to build a personal brand and reach out to more people through content marketing, this is for you!
Blogs vs. Videos vs. Podcast?
Articles or blogs, videos and podcasts are three amazing ways to really maximise your audience! If you are only doing one of these, you want to think about using all the different ways to reach more people.
Use your strengths to reproduce your content in multiple ways. I personally start with creating my videos, but you might start with writing blog posts!
My system:
Every Youtube video I create gets written into an article that gets published on my blog! I have two VAs looking after my blog. I have a VA who listens to my videos and creates the blog posts from there. With every blog post, there is written text with the Youtube video and the podcast linked. This gets put together so my audience have the choice of either read, watch or listen to my content.
On my podcast page, which is also linked on my blog, people can listen to all my podcast episodes since the beginning of time!
How to get set up!
My iTunes podcast was really simple to set up. It was automatically linked to my Buzzsprout account. This allows you to see your podcast statistics and see how it’s growing! I’ve done this with no extra work on my part. If you are creating videos right now, you could be doing this with no extra work by you!
All you need is a Buzzsprout account to get started. This is the hosting for your podcast. There is a free version and a paid version. I now use the paid version, but with the free version you get 90 days free, which allows you to publish your content and find out if this system works for you.
If you do decide that this is the right platform for you, I pay $15 a month, and it will store all the history of all my podcast episodes. It also links directly to iTunes, so I’ve not had to do anything on iTunes because I can work solely from Buzzsprout.
I use a software called Camtasia, and it’s a great video editing software that allows you to play around with text, different videos, audio, really all types of media. I created an intro for my podcast, which I copy onto the timeline. I then grab the video, which I’ve already published to Youtube. I put that together in Camtasia with the intro and the outro.
This video now can be separated from the audio. All I do is remove the image, and can export this as my podcast episode!
All I do now is add a title, a little bit about what the episode is about and some tags so people can find it! I can also then simply embed this onto my blog so my audience on my blog can listen to it too if they want, which is really handy!
For my intro and outro on my podcast episodes, I go to Fiverr.com. I paid a small fee of $5 to get this made for me, but you could make it yourself too. All I did was search for podcast intro or outro, and simply found a freelancer with great reviews. They can create it for you and that’s it!
You’ve got your hosting, which you can publish to, you’ve got iTunes so millions of people around the world can find your episodes for free, you’ve got your podcast on your blog, and all this has been done with no extra work!
I hope this has given you some insight into how I got started on my podcast. This has only taken me about four months, and I’m now reaching more people and seeing great statistics. If you’re a content producer or you want to build your personal brand, remember to use all three ways of reaching your audience!
If you are podcasting, let me know how you’re doing using this concept! 🙂
